Thoughts on Mailing Love...

I could write to you, and express my feelings in writing.

But the last time I did that, you put my heart in an envelope and sent it back to me.

Blame it on the mailman. Blame it on the mailman.

I put my soul on paper and you'll never get to see it.

I put my heart on paper and you'll never get to hear it.

Lost in the post. Lost in the post.

I'm lost in the post. My heart, my soul.

Blame it on the mailman. Blame it on the mailman.

Shouldn't have bothered paying the postal fee.

Wrapped up in brown paper packaging and tied up in string. I thought that was one of your favourite things.

I didn't bother writing my address on the back as it was all meant for you.

I could write to you, and express my feelings in writing.

But it hurts.

Email is more reliable anyway. And less personal.

Eight.

Sometimes the most positive, optimistic, caring, conscientious, ethusiastic people need a day off. Best advice I've heard? Take one!

Optimism.

All it takes is one little detail. Just one.

A minor gesture. A word. A detail.

To change someone's day.

Smile. Laugh. "Good morning". You look really good today. "How are you?" Wait for the answer. See with your eyes - observe and notice! A hug. A kiss on the forehead. Holding someone's hand - a squeeze. Five minutes to give all your attention to someone else. A shared moment. Music. Dance. Stories. A question where the answer interests you. The choice to sit in the chair next to them. A letter. A note. An invitation to coffee. A lasting look. Amazing. Beautiful. Exciting. Make plans - see a film. Go on a date where there doesn't have to be a romantic reason. An acknowledgment of things of beauty. The sun is shining. Show affection. Make someone a coffee. Breakfast. A gift. Surprise! Thank you. Honestly. Truly. Without a hint of sarcasm.

Optimism isn't unattainable. It can start with a smile. Brighten someone's day.

All it takes is one detail...
